Consultant Paediatrician | Gippsland Region

An exciting opportunity is available for a Consultant Paediatrician to join a well-established regional paediatric service providing hospital and community care across a broad catchment in eastern Victoria.

This is a full-time ongoing consultant role with immediate start available, offering the chance to work across inpatient, emergency, outpatient, and outreach paediatric services within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

The Role

You will provide specialist paediatric services across a busy regional health service covering inpatient, emergency, neonatal, outpatient, and community care.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivery of high-quality paediatric care across hospital and community settings
  • Participation in emergency and inpatient paediatric services
  • Community paediatrics clinics and regional outreach (including surrounding areas)
  • Collaboration within a multidisciplinary team including allied health and nursing staff
  • Contribution to neonatal care including resuscitation and stabilisation support
  • Supporting clinical governance, service development, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Supervision and support of junior medical staff and trainees

What We’re Looking For

  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) – essential
  • Specialist registration (or eligibility) with AHPRA in Paediatrics
  • Strong experience in general paediatrics across hospital and community settings
  • Demonstrated competence in neonatal care and resuscitation
  • Commitment to rural and regional healthcare delivery
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work across a broad and varied clinical scope
